SECURITY COUNCIL

Chairs

Mariella is a fourth year law student at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. During her first year at university she was part of the founding board of UAMIMUN. During her second year she was the Co-President of the society as well as being part of the winning team of  the Philip C. Jessup moot court competition (Spanish rounds), representing Spain in Washington D.C.

She is also a finalist of the World Universities Debating Championship in Spanish and has just returned from the European Debating Championship held at Warsaw.

Jaime Gallut García currently studies a degree in International Relations at the Rey Juan Carlos University. It is his interest for politics and international affairs what led him to participate in the UN models from an early age. As time has gone by, Jaime has gained plenty of experience participating in quite a few UN models, in which he has been awarded for his distinguish participation as delegate, in between those models we can find some such as MIMUN,URJCMUN or KIMUN.

In his early participation as an authority in UN models, Jaime has shown to chair in quite a perfectionist way in what regards to the rules of procedure and to be quite severe with the fulfilment of a respectful treatment between all members of the committee.

As Mariella prepares herself for a career in international humanitarian  law, the topics of the Security Council fall perfectly in her scope of interests and is more than happy to help delegates navigate the intricate world of conflict in the Middle East as well as highlighting the crude reality of sexual violence amidst war.

Topics

Topic A: "Sexual violence as a weapon in war situations"

Topic B: "Intervention in Yemen"
